Scenario Planning Workshops On The Road

Since November, we have taken the workshop on the road and have generated 56 additional maps from these workshops. At these workshops, citizens from across our region map their choices for the future of Erie and Niagara counties by deciding on things like what to protect, where to grow, and how to get around.

Host a WorkshopTo ensure we capture the many diverse voices across our region, we are offering citizens and organizations the opportunity to bring the Scenario Planning Workshops to their community through mid-March, 2014.

Here’s what you’ll need to do:

  1. Host the workshop: You find the space, we will bring the rest. The space must be sufficient size to accommodate your group and be furnished with chairs, tables and an electrical outlet. We will bring the rest to you.
  2. Get your people out: Within reason, groups of any size can be accommodated, but we ask you to guarantee you can get out at least twelve people to the workshop. They do not all need to be members of your group or organization, but they should all be willing to participate in the exercise for its entirety.
  3. Set aside at least an hour: Because the exercise is somewhat complex, we will need at least an hour of your time to effectively conduct the workshop activities. Preferably, an hour and a half will be needed.
  4. Schedule the session to take place before March 15, 2014: Because we need to integrate all of the maps into the analysis we will present at the next round of public meetings, any mobile workshops must be scheduled to take place before March 15, 2014.

* Engagement opportunities that offer the opportunity to expand the diversity of participation (geographic, socioeconomic, ethnic, etc.) will be prioritized.
